Nestled in the heart of Betanzos, La Casona De Betanzos is a delightful gem that stands out from your typical lodgings. From the moment Maria and her family welcomed us, it felt like a home away from home. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and sported some pretty artistic touches, including a unique wooden sink that Antonio crafted himself. What I appreciated most was the thoughtful touches – complimentary coffee and popcorn in our room, plus the inviting atmosphere of the renovated bus café where we mingled with other guests over drinks in the evening. As someone who often travels in the high altitudes of the Himalayas, being pampered like this was a welcomed change! Conveniently located near beautiful parks and museums, La Casona is just a short shuttle ride from the bustling city centre. It's a perfect spot for the nature-loving traveler or pilgrims traversing the Camino, with the added bonus of a lovely garden terrace to unwind. This spot is highly recommended for anyone looking for a quirky yet warm retreat.
